Foundation Half Double Crochet (FHDC)

Stitch Definitions

sl st = slip stitch

  • Insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through stitch and loop on hook

ch = Chain

  • Yarn over, pull through loop on hook

sc = Single Crochet

  • Insert hook into stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook

hdc = Half Double Crochet

  • Yarn over, insert hook into stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook

HHDC = Herringbone Half Double Crochet

  • Yarn over and insert the hook into the next stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull the loop through the stitch AND through the first loop on the hook. Two loops remain on hook.
  • Yarn over again and pull the loop through both loops on the hook.

dc = Double Crochet

  • Yarn over, insert hook into stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook
  • Yarn over and pull through last two loops on hook

DC Cluster

  • Yarn over (YO), insert hook in the stitch, YO draw the yarn through the stitch, YO, draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook
  • Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 3 loops on the hook
  • One DC Cluster is complete

tr = Treble Crochet

  • Yarn over 2 times, insert hook into stitch
  • Yarn over and pull through stitch
  • yarn over and pull through 2 loops (3 times)

V-stitch

  • Double crochet in stitch
  • Chain 2
  • Double crochet in same stitch
