There are a lot of patterns for crochet baby hats, but this is free pattern by far the easiest and quickest. Use this free pattern to make hats as baby shower gifts or to donate!

Pin It Now, Make It Later

When my babies were born, they were given handmade hats donated by a local knitting/crochet group.  I cannot begin to tell you how touched I was. I still have those hats, they are in the keepsake box I plan to pass to my kids when/if they become parents.

Since then I have made it my personal project to donate as many handmade hats to the maternity wing of the local hospital as I can.

After making, several hundred baby hats, I feel I have perfected the pattern, especially the sizing using yarn weights 4.

Each round ends with a chain 1.  This chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
