The inspiration for this hat and mitten set is Little Miss Sunshine with her rosy cheeks and bubbling love she has for her little brother.
Bright bold colors are her faves. Each time I see my toddler wearing this hat and mitten set with that pom pom bobbing around, I can’t help but smile.

Materials
You don’t need a lot of materials to work up this hat. It uses yarn that is commonly found at most stores and is knows for it’s durability, important for toddler wear!
- 1 Skein medium weight (4) yarn (main color) (I used Red Heart with Love)
- Less than 1 skein medium weight (4) yarn for heart I used Red Heart with Love)
- 5.00 mm hook
- Tapestry needle
- Pompom maker or faux fur pom-pom
Crochet Pattern Notes
The heart on the hat and mittens is not an applique. It is created using a graph and color changes. Similar to a graphgan. This gives is what gives it a seamless look, you also don’t have to worry if the applique is sewn on straight!
