In today's parenting adventure. I promised the kids an afternoon movie with popcorn (I thought it was going to rain 🤷‍♀️)

The kids started to argue over the last bit of popcorn (even though there was enough for both).
.
Little dude beat his sister to the big bowl and started to take it alll. I reminded him to split it with his sister. He looks at her, looks at her bowl then very deliberately puts ONE popcorn in her bowl. .
It was all I could do to keep from laughing.

I legit had no idea today was Monday. 🤦‍♀️ Anyone else this happened to?

Last night while listening to my Audiobook, I wanted something mindless to work on. So I started making classic granny squares. This yarn is left over from a blanket I made my daughter. I haven't decided if I'm going to do an afghan, pillow cover, or just fill the box with square and stick it in a closet. I 🤷‍♀️

This is the sweater that brought back my crojo. 🎉

I was flipping through a book and saw a pattern I really liked. For several days I kept coming back to this pattern and knew I should start making it.

Unfortunately I didnt have enough of the recommended yarn weight, so I went rogue. 🤔 can a crocheter even go rogue?
The pattern called for DK weight and a 5.5 mm hook. I'm using a worsted weight and a 6.5 mm hook. I've had to modify the pattern for the weight I've chosen, but it is working up well 🤸‍♀️ and I'm excited that I've gotten past the arm holes because the body will go pretty quickly.
The pattern is also using the linked treble crochet (LTR) stitch. It gives the sweater a wonderful texture and allows the sweater to work up fast. I really dont use this stitch enough in my work.
What are working on? Have you used the Linked Treble crochet stitch?

I hope everyone out there is doing well.
This quarantine thing has left me messed up! It is no secret I have suffered from anxiety most of my life, but it had only been the last 6 or so years that I've been managing it well.
When things started to get bad a month ago I had to let everything extra go. I stopped crocheting, blogging, designing and had to focus on what was going on in my life. It helped me to focus on the daily mundane parts of life: wake up, shower, get dressed, breakfast, get kids ready, be with kids and be playful, laundy, eat, and sleep. Repeat. Really focusing on the daily tasks helps.

The kids were out of school (and will be until September). My husband was working from home but was slammed with work, we didnt see him much of the day. When he came up for air he was stressed and exhausted.
To be honest the first couple of weeks left me shocked and fearful. It was all I could do to keep on keeping on, but I got through it. My dreams were filled with anxiety and getting a good nights sleep wasnt happening.

While I don't feel like life is normal (what is normal?) I feel like we have created a new balance and routine in our family. My sleep is back to normal'ish, I'm learning how to guide the kids similar to their school and omg have I been making all kinds of comfort foods!
The kids have adjusted well but that is kids for you.
As we enter our 4th week I feel balanced enough to return to social media and pick up where I left off on my latest crochet design. It is always comforting to know that my yarn and hook will always be waiting for me without judgment, ready to work up something beautiful whenever I'm ready.

The last couple of weeks have been insane! Between caring for my child with the flu and winter break, I was physically and emotionally exhausted. There even some days I didn't pick up my crochet hook at all!

Now she is back to normal, no one else in family caught it. We were even able to enjoy last last few days of winter break outdoors and with friends!

I've even started a new baby blanket for a family member's baby. Not sure about the gender of the baby but the parents love earth tones and I'm loving this color combination!

You've probably noticed I haven't been here lately, that is because last week I had my gallbladder removed and I have been taking it easy. ⁣
